Have you noticed any difference when Beijingers speak?
They usually speak fast and not very clearly, besides they really like “r” at the end of a word or sentence.
Beijing Mandarin or Beijing dialect, known as běi jīng huà(北京话)，is also called jīng piàn zi(京片子).
Today we are going to show you some Beijing slang.
麻利儿(má līr)：In standard Chinese, it's 快点(kuài diǎn) which means hurry or quickly.
kuài chí dào le, má līr shàng chē
* 快 迟 到 了，麻 利儿 上 车。
We are about to be late. Get on the car quickly.
甭 / 别几(béng / bié ji): These two words both mean don't or no. In standard Chinese, it's like 别(bié) or 不用(bú yòng).
jīnr xià yǔ le, béng chū qù le
* 今儿下 雨 了， 甭 出 去 了。
It's raining today. Don't go out.
* mā, zuò yè míng tiān xiě kě yǐ ma?
-妈， 作 业 明 天 写 可 以 吗？
bié ji, míng tiān hái yǒu qí tā zuò yè
-别几，明 天 还 有 其 他 作 业。
-Mum, can I do the homework tomorrow?
-No. You'll have other homework tomorrow.
瓷儿(cír)：it means the best friend or BFF.
zhèi shì wǒ cír, wǒ men jīng cháng
* 这 是 我 瓷儿，我 们 经 常
yí kuàir chū qù wánr
一 块儿 出 去 玩儿。
This is my BFF and we often hang out together.
发小儿(fà xiǎor): It means the person who grew up with you together since you were kids.
wǒ men shì fà xiǎor, wǔ suì
* 我 们 是 发 小儿，五 岁
jiù rèn shi le, yí kuàir zhǎng dà de
就 认 识 了，一 块儿 长 大 的。
We were pals. We've known each other since 5 years old and grown up together.
捯饬(dáo chi): It means to dress up. It's like 打扮(dǎ bàn) in standard Chinese.
yí huìr wǒ qù cān jiā tóng xué jù huì,
* 一 会 我 去 参 加 同 学 聚 会，
děi hǎo hāor dáo chi dáo chi
得 好 好儿 捯 饬 捯 饬。
I‘m gonna go for a party with my classmates later. I'll dress up.
见天儿(jiàn tiānr): It means everyday, like 每天(meǐ tiān) or 天天(tiān tiān)
nǐ zěn me jiàn tiānr dōu
* 你 怎 么 见 天儿 都
zhè me wǎn huí lai?
这 么 晚 回 来？
why are you back so late everyday?
老爷儿(lǎo yér): It means sun. In standard Chinese, it's 太阳(tài yang)
lǎo yér chū lai le, chū qù liù liù wānr ba
*老爷儿 出 来了， 出 去 溜 溜 弯儿 吧。
The sun is coming out. Let's go out for a walk.
猫腻儿(māo nìr): It means tricks or some action that is intended to deceive someone.
wǒ kàn zhèi shìr méi nà me jiǎn dān,
* 我 看 这 事儿 没 那 么 简 单，
kěn dìng yǒu māo nìr
肯 定 有 猫 腻儿。
I think this thing is not as simple as we thought. There must be some tricks.
肝儿颤(gānr chàn): It means scared, like 害怕(hài pà) in standard Chinese. 肝儿(gānr) is liver and 颤(chàn) is shake. The liver shakes which means scared of something.
xiǎo shí hòu zhǐ yào kào shì
* 小 时 候 只 要 考 试
wǒ jiù gānr chàn
我 就 肝儿 颤
I was scared as long as we were going to have test when I was young.
倍儿(bèir): It's same as 非常(fēi cháng) or 特别(tè bié) which means very.
zhèi ge cài bèir hǎo chī, nǐ cháng chang
* 这 个 菜 倍儿 好 吃，你 尝 尝
